The answer to the title is not necessarily obvious to me.  My goal is to share my thoughts about Rice: our students, our programs, our campus.  I hope to include the campus in discussion about the great variety of topics which come to my attention.  I learn from my discussions with my students.  I hope you learn from me.  Will a blog accomplish this?  I will leave that to the reader to judge.
